She was most recently awarded the 2026 Jacob’s Pillow Ann & Weston Hicks Fellowship, through which she began developing her newest work, Veins of Alloy, a study of resilience filtered through metals under pressure. Her choreographic debut, Galvanizing Steel, sold out Gibney Dance Theater and established the foundation of her choreographic voice and since then work has been presented by La MaMa Moves Festival, Green Space Theater, The Kraine Theater, and the Doug Varone Devices Showcase, with commissions from Barnard/Columbia, Peridance Collective, Skidmore College, and Jamaica Center for Arts. As a performer, Francesca has worked with artists and companies including Shannon Gillen, Sidra Bell, Doug Varone, Alex Ketley, Thomas Noone Dance Company, and Soluq Dance Theater. She continues to perform and collaborate with artists including Colleen Thomas Dance, Saxyn Dance Works, Maria Angela Talavera Tejeda, and Keith Johnson Dancers. Francesca holds an MFA from Hunter College, where she received the Shuster Award for Outstanding Master’s Thesis. Alongside her performance and choreographic practice, she is an adjunct and guest teaching artist at Columbia/Barnard, Juilliard, Northeastern, and Gibney. She is one of three senior-level Countertechnique teachers in the United States and teaches extensively across the country and internationally.
